Wrap a Van for a Cause!

At Fox Plumbing Heating Cooling Electrical, investing in our community is at the forefront of the values our company stands for.

That’s why we are dedicated to building up our local communities in the Thompson Okanagan Region.

Our 2024 Charity Van Champion!
Big Bear Child & Youth Advocacy Centre

Big Bear Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (Big Bear CYAC) provides a wrap-around and holistic approach to prioritizing children/youth’s needs when involved in the criminal justice system. Big Bear CYAC primarily receives referrals from Kamloops RCMP and child protective services in Kamloops; however, we have also received referrals from surrounding areas and rural communities – our approach involves coordinating and facilitating collaboration with law enforcement, child protection, medical and mental health professionals, school district, and victim support services when responding to all forms of child abuse (physical, sexual, neglect, emotional, witnessed violence, involved in trafficking or exploitation) for any child/youth aged 2 to 18 years. Big Bear CYAC opened its doors on May 1st/2021! Big Bear CYAC has a beautiful and welcoming space with a Family Room, a Child & Youth Room, and cozy meeting rooms that are filled with soft furniture, ‘Big Bear decor’ and snacks/refreshments so children, youth and their families can have conversations with Police, Child Protection, and/or Crown in a more comfortable space. Previously, children/youth went to the Police Station and the courthouse to share their painful stories with professionals, but now the professionals can come to Big Bear. At Big Bear – we help children and youth go at the pace they need in sharing their stories – the priority is them! Providing this single, child-friendly, trauma-informed and culturally safe space for young victims and their non-offending family members and/or caregivers, helps minimize system-induced trauma during investigations of child abuse. Big Bear CYAC aims to decrease gaps and barriers for this population by enhancing support, inclusivity and accessibility to services that promote long-term healing and well-being.

Our 2023 Charity Van Champion!
Animal Auxiliary Thrift Store

The Horse Protection Society of BC started the Animal Auxiliary Thrift Store. The group supports Animal Disaster Teams, community members with vet bills, seniors, provides food hampers for animals and people year-round and much more.

We are thrilled to have a van running in each service area representing two organizations helping our community’s most vulnerable.

That’s right, we’ll be running two vans again in 2024!

Again, in 2024 we will be wrapping one of our service vans with a charity or non-profit organization’s logo for the entire 2024 calendar year, with 5% of revenue generated by that van going directly to the charity selected for the entire year.

As always figuring out which charity or non-profit will be the benefactor was the best part! Nominations begin December 1, 2023. We had a small but mighty group this year, the field was set, a bracket built, and the head-to-head voting began!

Voting kicked off on January 8th through our social community. Nominees are encouraged to engage their social communities during this time to collect as many votes as possible to make it to the next round.

Our Winning Van from 2022 continued its journey in 2023 and will be retiring this year. Thank you, North Okanagan Community Chaplaincy

The North Okanagan Community Chaplaincy provides physical, spiritual, and emotional care to the street-entrenched population.

Supply chain and shipping problems were evident in 2022, from finding simple household items to ordering large parts for repairs, so we decided we wanted to do something special for the North Okanagan Community Chaplaincy and have their Van run again in 2023.
